What a ceramic coating does

It's a hard, clear layer that bonds to your paint and stays there for years, where a wax or sealant lasts weeks or months.

Deeper gloss

Paint looks wetter and darker, and stays that way between washes.

Easier washing

Dirt and road film have less to grip, so the car cleans up faster.

Water runs off

Rain beads and sheets away, taking loose dirt with it.

Guards the paint

Resists UV fading, bird droppings, tree sap and water spotting.

What gets coated, and for how long

Paint is the main coating. Glass, wheels and trim each get their own, and all three are free with our fall coating offer.

  • Paint: every painted panel, up to 5 years
  • Glass: rain sheets off for clearer visibility
  • Wheels: brake dust rinses off instead of baking on
  • Trim: black plastics stay dark instead of fading grey

What a coating won't do

  • Stop rock chips or deep scratches. That takes paint protection film.
  • Hide swirls already in the paint. Those are polished out first.
  • Mean you never wash the car. It makes washing easier, not optional.

How a coating job goes

One day at the shop for most cars, start to finish.

  1. Get a quote

Tell us the vehicle and send a few photos of the paint. We reply with a price range and available dates.

  2. Drop-off and inspection

We check the paint under lights, note any existing defects, and confirm the polishing level and final price with you.

  3. Decontamination

A strip wash, iron remover and clay take off everything bonded to the paint, so the coating has a clean surface.

  4. Machine polish

A one-step or two-step correction, depending on what the paint needs. A test spot comes first.

  5. Coating

Every panel is wiped down, then coated and levelled by hand. Glass, wheels and trim follow.

  6. Pickup and care

We walk you through the finish and the care steps. Keep it dry for 12 hours and it's ready for years of use.

Looking after a coated car

A coating lasts as long as its care allows. These four habits are what get it to five years.

  • Keep it dry for the first 12 hours
  • No washing for the first 7 days
  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap
  • Skip automatic and brush car washes

3-year workmanship guarantee

If the coating fails because of how we applied it, we fix or recoat the affected panels free.

It covers our application, not damage such as rock chips, scratches or brush car washes, and it stays valid with a check-up wash at the shop once a year. You get the full terms in writing at pickup.

Ceramic coating questions

How much does a ceramic coating cost?

From $1,500 for a sedan, with a one-step paint correction included. Dark or heavily swirled paint that needs a two-step is $1,900. Glass, wheel and trim coatings can be added. You get an exact quote before we start.

How long does a ceramic coating last?

The paint coating lasts up to 5 years. The glass, wheel and trim coatings last up to 2 years each. How long yours lasts depends on how the car is washed and maintained, which is why we go through the care steps with you at pickup.

Should I coat a brand-new car?

Yes, new is the best time. The paint has the fewest defects it will ever have, so the coating locks in a near-perfect finish. We still decontaminate and machine polish it first, because new cars pick up marks in transport and at the dealership.

Do I need paint correction before a coating?

It's included. Every coating comes with a one-step paint correction, which removes swirls, light scratches and water spots first, because the coating locks in whatever is underneath. Dark or heavily swirled paint may need a two-step. We inspect your paint and confirm with you before we start.

Will a coating stop scratches and rock chips?

No. It adds gloss, makes the car far easier to wash, and protects against UV, bird droppings and water spotting. Rock chips and deep scratches need paint protection film.

How long do you need the car?

One full day at the shop for most cars, and longer if the paint needs a two-step correction. After pickup, keep it dry for 12 hours and don't wash it for the first 7 days.

Can I still use a car wash?

Hand washing with a pH-neutral soap is what keeps a coating performing. Automatic and brush car washes scratch the paint and wear the coating down early, and damage from them isn't covered by our guarantee. Touchless washes are the safer choice if you can't hand wash.

Is the coating guaranteed?

Yes. Every coating comes with our 3-year workmanship guarantee. If it fails because of how we applied it, we fix or recoat the affected panels free. It covers our application, not damage such as rock chips, scratches, brush car washes or water spotting, and it stays valid with a check-up wash at the shop once a year.

Do you offer mobile ceramic coating?

No. Coatings are done in shop only, where we control the lighting, dust and cure conditions. Mobile service is available for detailing.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit secures your spot, and it comes off your final bill. It's fully refundable if you cancel more than 48 hours before your appointment, and you can reschedule any time before that. Inside 48 hours, the deposit is kept.
